I know
you and your Managers are in discussions with the AA manufactured Union;
the IDU, about pay negotiations. I have been informed that you intend
to make a derisory offer to staff, which no doubt will have the support
of this Management Union.
The
purpose of this letter is to alert you to the fact that GMB members
employed in the AA, and staff in general, should not be insulted with
derisory offers, in the face of CVC Permira Management awarding
themselves tens of millions of pounds and having awarded the ex-Chief
Executive circa £40million in bonuses and payments.
The
Company is currently boasting record profits whilst Executives and
Senior Managers receive handsome bonuses and salaries. So whilst we are
all aware of your intentions, and we know that the IDU Management Union
will support you, I am alerting you to the discord and disharmony
amongst staff, so please ensure that when you make an offer it should be
in the region of 4.5%, in line with your budgetary planning.
